We were also there at Breakbulk Europe 2025

01 Innovation, logistics and an international vision

The Veneto port system is at the forefront of Breakbulk Europe 2025, Europe's leading trade fair for packaged goods and project cargo. Celebrating its twentieth anniversary, this year the event welcomes a particularly significant Veneto presence, with a delegation of approximately 30 logistics operators, terminal operators, agents, and freight forwarders from the ports of Venice and Chioggia.

Coordinated by the Northern Adriatic Sea Port System Authority, representatives of the port cluster are presenting to the European public a dynamic, innovation-oriented ecosystem capable of addressing global logistics challenges with expertise and strategic vision.

02 Institutional presence and focus on excellence

At booth 2D51, the Port Authority will present a selection of case studies highlighting the ability of Veneto ports to manage complex operations in the breakbulk and oversized cargo sectors. The return of Breakbulk Italy, a national event organized in collaboration with Shipping Italy, was also announced, set to take place in Venice in October 2025.

"It's a sector that has seen the lagoon ports at the forefront for decades" - says the Authority's president - "and which will bring us further satisfaction between this year and next.".

Among the most significant developments:

  • New facilities in Porto Marghera, such as that of the Siad group, confirm the port's competitive position in the production and export of project cargo.

  • The Cimolai project in Chioggia, where a 45,000 m2 area will host the construction of two giant port cranes, over 100 meters tall, until 2026, ready to be shipped by sea to Monfalcone.

The exceptional parcels sector has already recorded a +16.6% increase in 2024 and continues to grow in the first quarter of 2025, strengthening Veneto's leadership in the sector.

03 Skills, network and value for the territory

“We have a strong presence in Rotterdam with a network of companies and professionals who represent invaluable know-how.” – underlines the president of ASAMAR – "Breakbulk is a niche with extremely high added value, strategic for the economy and skilled employment in our region.".

The sector is essential to the manufacturing and industrial fabric of Veneto and Italy: it allows companies to export high-tech finished products worldwide, while supporting competitiveness and sustainability.

04 A shared vision for the future of logistics

The experience at Breakbulk Europe 2025 strengthens the Veneto ports' position as strategic hubs in the Mediterranean for complex traffic, thanks to infrastructure, investments, and expertise that combine industrial tradition and innovation. This is a challenge played out daily on a global scale, but it always begins with a strong, cohesive, and forward-looking regional network.
